Integral Care - Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches adults (18+) how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health challenges, mental health crisis, or substance use challenges among adults and youth. MHFA can save a life, just like CPR or physical first aid.
Our kids need mental health support. Depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide are on the rise among youth. Integral Care and Travis County are addressing this urgent need by offering FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings to Travis County residents, businesses, and organizations.
Since 2010, over 16,800 community members have been trained by Integral Care as Mental Health First Aiders, with more than 3,600 trained in Youth MHFA.
Program Update: Sustaining MHFA for the Future
To ensure this life-changing program continues to grow and serve our community, Adult Mental Health First Aid trainings will transition to a fee-based model starting January 1, 2026. This change reflects both the end of current grant funding and our commitment to long-term sustainability.
All trainings will remain free thanks to continued grant funding for the following groups::
- Attorneys, judges, and first responders
- K–12 school employees
- Higher education employees
- Veterans and military members
If you are interested in providing a private MHFA training for your organization please email mhfa@integralcare.org .
We hope to see you in one of our MHFA trainings soon!
