**Ed Heron is a Welsh painter and experienced teacher based at Banks Mill Studios in Derby.**

He holds a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Fine Art from the University of Derby, and has exhibited in Derby and through projects connected with his undergraduate and postgraduate study. Ed’s painting practice is rooted in observation, process, colour, texture and the development of ideas over time.

Alongside his work as a visual artist, Ed has over 20 years’ experience as a guitar teacher. This long teaching background shapes his approach in the studio: calm, practical, encouraging and responsive to each person’s level of confidence and experience.

Ed offers small-group art courses, one-to-one artist mentoring and supported studio sessions for adults who want to explore their creativity, develop their skills and make more work in a friendly, thoughtful environment.
