
Dillon Lecture Series
The Dillon Lecture Series at Hutchinson Community College was created in 1981 to honor community leaders Ray and Stella Dillon. The purpose of the series is to provide an
out-of-classroom educational experience for the youth of this community and at the same time enable the citizens of Reno County to hear outstanding lecturers. They encompass adiverse variety of topics and professions. The Dillon Lecture Series Committee selects three to fourspeakers each year. Some notable lecturers in the Series' past include Maya Angelou, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Capt. Scott Kelly, and Dr. Rick Rigsby.
The series is funded by patron membership and corporate sponsorship. Students of all ages are admitted to the lecture free of charge. Community members who are not patrons ofthe Series can purchase tickets at the door for each event.
