Defend DC is a new campaign transforming D.C.’s passion, resolve, and political power into targeted action. Convened by Robert White, we are an inclusive coalition bringing together advocacy and labor organizations, elected officials, civic and faith leaders and every-day Washingtonians to confront escalating Republican attacks on our rights, self-government, and democracy.

We recruit, train, and mobilize D.C. residents and allies to canvass in competitive congressional districts across Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. We go where our voices, energy, and organizing power can make the greatest impact.

Our mission is clear: elect a Democratic House majority that will defend D.C. and make the case for statehood that meets the moment. We support strong Democratic challengers taking on vulnerable Republicans, prioritizing candidates who will proactively stand with Washingtonians in our fight for statehood, self-government, and full representation.

Congress may deny us a vote, but it cannot deny us a voice. Together, we will make the rights of Washingtonians impossible to ignore.
