DFW Asylum Seeker Housing (DASH) Network
Our Mission:
“In response to the compassionate and welcoming love of Jesus, DASH Network exists to love people who are seeking asylum by serving their physical and relational needs.”
Who is an Asylum Seeker?
Someone who has fled from persecution due to their race, religion, nationality, or membership of a particular social group or political opinion, and is requesting asylum status but still awaiting the determination.
In Texas, it often takes 2 years or more to receive a work permit after applying for asylum. During this time, asylum seekers are not eligible for any government social services. We are still the ONLY organization to provide long-term housing solutions to people who are seeking asylum during this wait.
Our Services:
Housing: through host families and apartments we rent in downtown Fort Worth.
Food: through grocery volunteers, gift card donations, and partnerships with local food banks.
Friendship: through our advocate program which pairs residents with volunteers to foster genuine friendship as well as monthly social events and big quarterly events.
Equipping: through case managemetn services which connects residents to local resources, connecting residents with volunteer opportunities and graduation assistance. Residents also participate in career preparation courses, ESL classes, trauma healing, and financial management through the DASH Network "Thrive Academy".
DASH Network History:
After 5 years as a ministry of a local church, we became an independent non-profit in 2017 and gained 501(c)3 status. We employ 5 staff members and manage over 100 volunteers. We have 144 recurring individual donors, and have the capacity to house 41 residents and have served over 190 asylum seekers to date. We are completely funded by individual contributors like you!
Our Vision:
To ensure that every individual seeking asylum is met with Christ’s love as all members of the DASH family are equipped to thrive.
Our Values:
Faith: Centering Christ as our supreme hope and authority in all things
Compassion: Honoring all people as image bearers as we respond to needs with love, respect, dignity, and mutuality
Hospitality: Inviting individuals, churches, and the community as partners in our work of welcoming people who are seeking asylum
Excellence : Striving to glorify God in everything we do
Empowerment: Providing skills, resources, and opportunities to promote the flourishing of all members of our community
