Commonplace Books
Commonplace Books is Oxford County's local independent bookstore, proudly serving Ingersoll, Woodstock, Tillsonburg, and all neighbouring communities.
Founded in 2025 by Shannon McKechnie, Commonplace aims to be a gathering place for stories, community, and curiosity. We believe that books should feel welcoming, not overwhelming, and that everyone deserves a space where they can discover stories that feel like home.
Our name comes from the old tradition of keeping a “commonplace book”: a place to collect quotes, ideas, and moments worth remembering. Our hope is that the bookstore becomes a common place to the residents of Oxford County.
