Child Welfare Training Collaborative

The Child Welfare Training Collaborative (CWTC) is a partnership
between the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services and
the Georgia State University, School of Social Work, Professional
Excellence Program. The mission of CWTC is to cultivate a common
understanding of issues facing children and families that strengthens
the ability for community partners and the Division of Family
and Children Services to support Georgia’s families. In order to
accomplish this mission, CWTC will provide a series of free training
opportunities for community partners. The Division’s community
partners include law enforcement, schools, foster parents, faith based
organizations, mental health providers, child care agencies, juvenile
courts, community service organization and many others who work
with children and families who are involved with the Division. The
Division relies on all these partners to provide an array of services to
create an efficient and effective child welfare system that helps families
achieve positive outcomes. We hope our program and trainings will
enhance the working relationships between the Division and its
partners by creating a common core of knowledge and providing
opportunities for collaboration.
