Country Dance New York (CDNY) is an all-volunteer nonprofit [501(c)(3)] group which shares with the community the love we have for Contra dancing and English country dancing. We sponsor two dances a week to live music between September through June.

Reflecting our NYC roots, we are a diverse group of dancers — from old-timers who have been dancing for decades to newer generations who have recently discovered traditional American and English dancing. Our community includes men, women and non-binary; people who identify as straight and LBGTQIA2S+; we are proud to weave a tapestry of support welcoming people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. identities and occupations. On the dance floor we become one community through the joys of dancing and our shared respect of others.

We are an affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society Inc. (www.cdss.org), and we and our predecessors have been putting on dances in NYC for 100 years. We hope you will join us on the dancefloor!
