Bebhinn Thomas
Bebhinn Thomas creates work in her home studio as well as at ArtWorks RVA studio #128. Currently her favorite tools are her floor looms and her flat bed knitting machines. Bebhinn primarily works in protein fibers such as wool, alpaca and silk, but uses some cotton and bamboo as project stability requires. She spends time working on both functional and usable arts, such as wearables and house goods, as well as 2 dimensional wall pieces and 3 dimensional sculpture. Her favorite works have included her hand made socks which she wears herself everyday and her tiny felted animals doing human things.
Bebhinn has a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Textiles/Fiber and a Masters from Virginia State University in Learning Disabilities. She sells her wares currently in Richmond, Virginia with her small business OF A FEATHER RVA at ArtWorks RVA and Stuff RVA. She also teaches high school Exceptional Education in Henrico county.
