Barr Lake State Park

Barr Lake State Park

Barr Lake is one of 43 Colorado State Parks, located just 30 minutes east of Denver. With over 2700 acres of trails, water, and wide-open skies- including a designated wildlife refuge on the lake's southern half- this park is made for nature lovers, families, bird nerds, and anyone who needs a breath of fresh air. We offer year-round programs, guided hikes, and hands-on learning for all ages. Whether you're watching for bald eagles, paddling the lake, or taking a walk at sunset, Barr Lake offers something for everyone.

Some of our feature annual community events include:

  • Bald Eagle Festival - February
  • Archery Day - May
  • Harvest Festival - September
  • Christmas Holiday Lighted Trail - December
