The Metro Detroit Links Collaborative with DAPCEP

The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of 16,000 professional women of color in 280 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. Each year The Links, Incorporated members contribute more than1 million hours of documented community service. One of our national initiatives is to “Introduce and support Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Medicine (S.T.E.A.M.M.) education and career readiness”.

Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) is a nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of experience partnering with universities, training programs, and K-12 school systems in order to connect youth to the best science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) educational experiences in Michigan and beyond. DAPCEP services over 11,000 students per year between the ages of 4 and 18. They attend public, private, charter, and home schools and love to explore new environments. DAPCEP has been the hub for students interested in higher education in STEM curriculums. DAPCEP graduates are now leaders in their chosen professions.
