St. Mary of the Snow Society
Saint Mary of the Snow Society is the oldest Mutual Aid society in Brooklyn. Founded in 1888, we were established to help support the influx of immigrants arriving in Brooklyn from the town of Sanza, Provence of Salerno, Italy.
Over 130 years later, our Society continues to preserve the great history that generations of members have built, and celebrate Italian and Italian-American culture and traditions in Brooklyn. We host a number of events, community service programs, and celebrations throughout the year. Our biggest is the Feast of Our Lady of Snow on August 5th.
