Established in 1989 along the beautiful Gaviota coast of Santa Barbara County, we culture live California red abalone and ogo seaweed, and ranch sea urchin for premier restaurants across the country. We are the only farm in Southern California dedicated to the production of the iconic California delicacy, abalone.

Our abalone is grown in cool clean seawater that we pull directly from the Santa Barbara channel and fed only with seaweeds harvested sustainably from the local kelp beds. Each abalone is grown from the tiniest egg in our hatchery to market size over a period of 4 years, or in the case of our popular “Demi” and “Imperial” sizes, 8-10 years.

We pride ourselves on collaborating with top restaurants that prioritize ingredient quality and sourcing directly from growers and fishermen. Our abalone have been featured at The French Laundry, SingleThread Farm, Hog Island Oyster Co, Atelier Crenn, n/naka, and San Ysidro Ranch, to name a few.
