Hi, I'm Jovann — a certified Mahjong instructor and passionate community builder. I’ve been playing Mahjong for over 9 years, ever since I was first introduced to the game while living overseas as an expat in Singapore. What began as a casual Monday afternoon game to meet fellow expats quickly turned into a lifelong love affair with this timeless, strategic, and deeply social game.

When I returned home to Dallas, I was thrilled to see Mahjong gaining popularity again—but finding enough players who actually knew how to play was a challenge. So I began teaching a few friends, and those game nights turned into something truly special. The joy, connection, and laughter we shared inspired me to get certified and expand the community even further.

In just the past two years, I’ve taught over 1,000+ players how to play—and fall in love with—Mahjong. With every event, I look forward to making new connections, building lasting friendships, and continuing to grow this vibrant and welcoming Mahjong community.
