Ars Lyrica Houston is a Grammy-nominated Baroque ensemble dedicated to bringing the music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries vividly to life. Founded in 1998 by Artistic Director Matthew Dirst, Ars Lyrica is known for imaginative programming, historically informed performance on period instruments, and performances that connect early music to contemporary life.

Based in Houston, Ars Lyrica presents concerts, fully staged operas, educational programs, and community collaborations across the city and around the Houston community. The ensemble regularly appears at major venues including the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Rice University, and St. Philip Presbyterian Church, and has earned international acclaim for its recordings, livestreams, and festival appearances.
