Los Angeles Kayak Club
The Los Angeles Kayak Club is an American Canoe Association (ACA) Paddle America club. The ACA is the only national organization for paddlesport safety and education.
Many of our events are insured by the ACA. A number of our leaders and instructors are ACA-certified instructors.
The club was founded by Katherine and Paul Macey in 2002. LAKC has consistently offered a core set of programs to introduce new paddlers to the sport and to connect more experienced paddlers to the wider kayaking community.
Occasionally the club gets involved in stewardship, such as the 2019 Piru Creek Flow test and our advocacy around an LA River whitewater park.
There are no fees to belong to the LAKC. Some events may require a small fee or suggested donation to cover costs.
