True Rescue was formed just under 4 years ago, in Mt. Juliet, TN, with the intention to build a brick/mortar shelter to house unwanted community cats/dogs. Our mission changed drastically when we realized how few resources there were for unwanted or homeless cats/kittens in our city as well as the entire state. We immediately changed our business model for our shelter to focus 85% on cats/kittens and 15% on dogs/puppies. We currently house no less than 250 cats kittens in our 7,000 sq. ft entirely communal facility, with an active foster base housing many of those as well that are medical or behavior cases. This past year we were hovering at the 450 intake mark most of the way through kitten season. We have quickly become the go-to for all things cat/kitten related in our community and surrounding counties. Because of our fast growth, we are now in the process of opening up our own spay/neuter and low-cost animal clinic. We have seen firsthand the plight of TNR groups, and other cat rescues that are drowning in requests, and we wanted to bring everyone together to talk about the latest issues that cat rescues/shelters and rescuers are currently dealing with, and to come together to network, through this amazing lecture series called The Ultimate Cat Conference.
