DRYFT Music
We host intimate concerts in historic spaces around the Pacific Northwest. We began this concept of offering intimate concerts with the growing reality that live music is a dying art-form - and more specifically, live music where people listen and understand the value of being an active participant and where musicians are fairly compensated for sharing something so personal.
DRYFT Music opened its doors in January 2018, launching its first concert on a historic steamship in Seattle, the S.S. Virginia V, to a captivated, sold-out audience. We quickly realized there was an incredible need for this type of intimate show, a concert where the audience sits right next to the performer, where the musician can see and talk to their entire audience, where the physical space enhances the experience. DRYFT expanded to other historic Seattle venues prior to the pandemic, such as the Stimson-Green Mansion on Capitol Hill and the Aberthau Mansion in Vancouver, BC, as well as planned concerts at Seattle's Smith Tower and the Steamer Portland.
The global pandemic changed the music landscape dramatically, with many venues around the country shuttering their doors. In combination with streaming music as the predominant form of taking in music, musicians have struggled to stay afloat. And yet music is something we all deeply connect with and I would argue is essential in our lives.
Dryft was created to change this paradigm. We created a model that offers fair compensation and a unique, engaging space for the musician; a cozy, quiet, listening room environment in beautiful, unusual venues; and a way to bring everyone together in an unbeatable experience that is unlike any other concert you’ve experienced. We bring you intimate concerts in unique, historic spaces.
