Khan Lab School (KLS) is an independent, nonprofit, K–12 school founded by Sal Khan, the creator of Khan Academy. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, we are a vibrant community of learners and educators who believe that school should nurture curiosity, develop agency, and equip students with the tools to solve real-world problems.

At the heart of our model is mastery-based learning, where students develop and demonstrate true understanding. This approach ensures that every student builds a strong foundation before moving forward—developing confidence, resilience, and a genuine love of learning.
