Happy Accidents

Happy Accidents

My name is Zoë Hughes, the founder of Happy Accidents.

A few years ago, I used to work as an art instructor in Wynwood. Our class was open to all ages and experience levels. What I noticed from doing these classes was not only the joy it would bring to everyone, but also the pressure, and at times, frustration that some would have. By the end of a 1 hour class, some clients would feel like their creations weren't adequate enough to take home, despite the fun they had creating it.

My goal for Happy Accidents is not only to facilitate a safe space to create freely, but also to show people that art is purely about expression, and the joy the process brings. One way to ease some nerves and relieve some pressure, is a glass of wine. It always does the trick!

Bob Ross was one of America's great art instrutors. If you watch his videos, you'll notice how joyful he was. He truly believed anyone could paint. He invited everyone to give it a shot and to not worry so much of the outcome. He carried this energy throughtout each and evryone of his hundreds of videos. "We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents."
