HBCU & Friends was created by two young professionals who believe some of the best connections happen when community, culture, and a good time meet in the same room.

With years of experience working in Detroit's nonprofit and community spaces, our organizers have backgrounds in community engagement, educational programming, event facilitation, and creating opportunities that bring people together.

But beyond the résumés, we're also young Detroiters ourselves. We're tapped into the city, passionate about our HBCU community, and understand the need for more spaces where young professionals can meet, socialize, build genuine relationships, and simply have a good time.

HBCU & Friends is our way of creating those spaces, combining the community-building work we already love with the social experiences we want to see more of in Detroit.
