Solstice is  an independent, community oriented non-profit devoted to promoting hands-on community participation in the arts, dedicated to multi-cultural visual and performing arts. Our mission statement is: “Bringing the Community Together Through the Arts.”

Solstice produces a parade and 3-day festival as well as providing a 2 month workshop where participants create the people-powered parade with the assistance of Solstice artists, largely out of rrecycled and repurposed materials.   The parade is the largest arts-oriented event in Santa Barbara County, drawing crowds of over 100,00 spectators from around the world.

Solstice is one of the few places in the world that teaches the celebration arts.
