CornerHouse is a nationally recognized Child Advocacy Center (CAC) based in Minnesota. We provide a safe, supportive, and neutral setting where individuals can share their experiences as part of a coordinated, multidisciplinary response involving law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, medical, and mental health professionals.
To partner with families, communities, and systems - entrusted with the safety of children, youth, and vulnerable adults - to reduce trauma and end abuse. We realize this mission through work in prevention, intervention, and ending abuse in families. We strive to assist families in stabilization and healing.
CornerHouse Training:
CORNERHOUSE IS A GLOBALLY RECOGNIZED TRAINING INSTITUTION, PROVIDING EDUCATION FOR TRAUMA-INFORMED FORENSIC INTERVIEWING.
CornerHouse has been a pioneer in the field of forensic interviewing since the early 1990s. We developed the CornerHouse Forensic Interviewing Protocol, one of the first semi-structured, research-informed forensic interview protocols designed to:
• Prioritize the needs and safety of the individual being interviewed, particularly children.
• Gather accurate and legally defensible information in a non-leading, trauma-informed manner.
• Ensure developmentally appropriate communication, allowing participants to share their experiences in their own words.
• Reduce the impact of trauma by limiting repeated interviews and promoting a child-centered approach.
We’ve trained close to 50,000 professionals across the world in best practices for interviewing children and vulnerable adults who have experienced abuse.
