Northern Neck Land Conservancy

Northern Neck Land Conservancy is a member supported 501 c 3 nonprofit land trust, incorporated in 2004. It serves the Northern Neck counties of King George, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland, as well as Essex on the Middle Peninsula. The Land Conservancy assists landowners who voluntarily protect their land by permanently restricting development through a conservation easement.

A conservation easement is a legal document that allows landowners to deed development rights while they continue to utilize and enjoy their property. By customizing the deed of easement, an easement donor determines how he or she wishes the land to be used, now and in the future. Today, the Northern Neck Land Conservancy is a permanent steward of 6,600 acres in the Northern Neck.
