The Union Mills Homestead Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1964 to operate and preserve the historic Union Mills Homestead. Dating to 1797, the Union Mills Homestead was an important early industrial complex anchored by a grist mill that produced flour, and was the historic home of Maryland's Shriver family for six generations.
