Born out of a need for IRL queer community, West of Lincoln is a network of grassroots neighborhood queer events held at rotating local venues. Think of it like a traveling neighborhood queer bar. Warm, inclusive, chatty, and local, West of Lincoln aims to connect queer neighbors for fun nights out that won’t wreck your bedtime, liver, or wallet.

WOL started out of a deep need for it to exist, in Venice, CA where the closest queer bar was a 45 minute drive away. The first event was organized with a personal email inviting friends to show up at a local bar one Thursday evening. They told their friends, who told their friends, and we’ve grown from there. All of our marketing to date is still word of mouth – a testament to the hunger for local queer community.

Our events are casual and deliberately under-programmed, so the main event is always great conversation and making new connections.
