Our mission at the Androscoggin Valley Soil & Water Conservation District is to promote the conservation and stewardship of soil, water, woodlands, and wildlife habitat in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc Counties. We provide outreach education, technical services, and partnerships for our rural and urban communities to mitigate and adapt to a changing climate. We host events related to soil and water, which comprises a full range of topics. Topics include gardening, soil health, forest ecology, tree, plant, and mushroom identification, tracking, farming, permaculture, erosion control, bird walks, building bat and bluebird houses, pollinators, lakesmart, invasive species, wildlife habitat, and more. We are always looking for new program topics and ideas that the public is interested in! Let us know what you might be interested in.
