Angela Sibly

Hi, I’m Ange — a proud Kiwi–Aussie with deep roots on both sides of the Tasman. After 30 years in New Zealand and 20 years in Australia (where I raised my two boys), I landed in Seattle in early 2020 and quickly discovered just how important connection and community are when you’re building a life far from home.

What began as a simple suggestion for a Christmas cocktail catch-up — after a lonely, locked-down first year — has grown into a relaxed, easy-going community where Aussies and Kiwis living in Seattle can find their people, share a laugh, and feel a little more like themselves again. From our monthly Mugs with Mates coffee mornings to the Wednesday/Weekend Wanders and the big annual gatherings, I love creating spaces where newcomers and long-timers alike can feel at home.

My style is friendly, organised, and very down-to-earth: no fuss, no pressure, just a welcoming environment where you can turn up as you are. Whether you’ve been here years or you’ve just rolled off the plane, you’ll always be warmly welcomed at an event — and you’ll almost certainly meet someone who “gets” your accent, your humour, and your need for a proper flat white.
