African Speculative Fiction Society

The African Speculative Fiction Society (ASFS) is an organisation of African writers editors, comic and graphic artists, and filmmakers in the fields of speculative fiction such as fantasy, science fiction, stories that draw on traditions, horror and philosophical fiction. ASFS presents the annual literary NOMMO awards that recognize works of speculative fiction by Africans including science fiction, fantasy, stories of magic and traditional belief, alternative histories, horror and strange stuff that might not fit in anywhere else. Members can nominate across four categories for best Novel, Novella, Short Story, and Graphic Novel.
