The Friends of the Parks is a non-profit membership based organization that provides support exclusively for the Monmouth County Park System. These projects and programs could not be funded through tax dollars alone.

We sponsor excursions and programs for urban youth; serving participants that have been determined to be economically disadvantaged and in need of financial assistance.

The Friends of the Parks assists the Therapeutic Recreation Division whose mission is to provide access to recreational opportunities for Monmouth County residents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in order to enhance physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning, as well as a sense of belonging to the community.

Our organization subsidizes exhibits and renovations at environmental centers, historic sites and visitor centers, provides compensation for continuing education and training for Park System staff and volunteers, as well as support for volunteer appreciation.
