Lacey Funderburk

✨Greetings to all my charcuterie admirers! I am Lacey Funderburk, owner of Sullivan’s Board Co. It’s been a while since I last introduced myself so in light of the new year, I thought it was time for me to submerge from behind the scenes!

My background is in the food and beverage industry, working in many different positions, for nearly a decade. Initially, when I started working in the f+b, I did it out of necessity. I was 24, new to Charleston, and needed a job. Before I moved to Charleston, I owned a ladies clothing boutique for about five years but as we all know, we experience growing pains and mine was a wild hair. I created a bucket list that included, moving to Charleston, graduating from culinary school, and a few other completely random things such as owning a florist (going to circle back around to that one!). I graduated from the Art Institute of Charleston with honors, earning a Bachelors Degree in Culinary Management. I continued working in some of the fantastic restaurants Charleston has to offer until March 16, 2020 when they sent us all home and I closed up Minero on East Bay for the very last time. (Sure do miss that burrito, comment if you do too!)

So, I did what everyone else did; went to the groceries 1,000 times, started cooking, and got chickens. It was a blast, slowing down and working on my own kitchen again. SBC was dreamed up during this time, when my husband and I realized we could order just about anything from the food delivery platforms with the exception of our beloved charcuterie boards. So, I got to work and SBC launched in May of 2020. I am happy to announce that with hard work, our baby business grew and grew each week!

January 2021 was when I hosted my very first workshop with the encouragement from a friend. It sold out in 20 minutes, as did the next one, and the next one! They were a hit. It’s hard to believe it’s been one year this month since starting my favorite part of this business. I love connecting with my workshop students and the small business owner that allow me to host them. I’ve made some great friends along the way.

So here we are, a few months shy of our two year birthday. I have enjoyed being able to bring to you our instagram-able charcuterie boards in to your home, popping up at local businesses with friends, catering your weddings, making up picnic boxes, and teaching your private and public workshops!

Thanks again for the support and friendship! ✨
