Annie Flores is a Latina Mushroom farmer with a background in organic Chemistry. A mycologist without any formal education in agriculture she is enamored with growing mushrooms and the science of mycology. She loves all the aspects of mushroom cultivation. A hobby grower for over 13 years and a production level gourmet mushroom cultivator since 2018. Annie has built a multitude of self contained sterilizing systems, cultivation SOPs and grown over 20 strains of mushrooms consistently for scaled production environments . Her self sustained company and cultivation hub, Hillside Mushrooms, is based out of one of the environmentally warmest climates in California, Bakersfield. Annie is available for consultations, in-person mushroom talks, podcasts, and community events. Annie is one of the few woman led and owned mushroom companies in America.
