Central County Fire Department

The Central County Fire Department proudly serves the communities of Burlingame, Hillsborough, and Millbrae.

CCFD provides all-risk fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and community risk reduction programs to approximately 70,000 residents, along with thousands of visitors each year.

The Central County Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team, or CCFD CERT, prepares community members to assist themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods following a major emergency or disaster. Through FEMA-aligned training, participants learn practical skills in disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, emergency communications, team organization, and disaster psychology.

Graduates become part of one of San Mateo County’s largest active CERT programs and may participate in monthly team meetings, supplemental trainings, exercises, community outreach events, and other preparedness activities. When authorized by CCFD, trained CERT volunteers may also be activated to support the department and their communities following a major disaster.
