Tavern at the Crossroads
Inspired by the great inns of fantasy and folklore, Tavern at the Crossroads is a seasonal gathering where strangers become companions. Expect hearty fare, home-brewed ales, simple games, music, and long conversations among friends.
Tavern at the Crossroads is an immersive medieval tavern experience—part living history, part fantasy gathering, and part community feast—offered freely, and sustained by the generosity of its guests.
Each tavern series is thoughtfully crafted by the founders of Tavern at the Crossroads and features its own selection of unique ales, meals, games, and optional quests. Our aim is to bring together those who share a love of all things medieval and to offer something rare among themed events: true participation. This is not a performance to be watched—it is a tavern to be lived in.
Step inside, pull up a seat, and make yourself at home. Share a refreshing ale and a hearty meal while conversing with fellow travelers who have arrived from distant roads. Kick the dust from your boots as tunes fill the air, dice clatter across wooden tables, and the event unfolds at its own unhurried pace.
Tavern at the Crossroads is an intimate gathering, typically welcoming around twenty guests per event. To preserve the warmth and closeness of a true medieval tavern, attendance is strictly limited, and tickets are few. If you wish to claim a seat at the table, we strongly encourage signing up early.
The tavern is hosted in the backyard of a private residence, carefully transformed into a medieval tavern space with themed décor, furnishings, and atmosphere. Once inside, the modern world falls away, replaced by excitement, timber, and the hum of shared company.
While no fixed price is set for entry, donations are expected. Contributions help cover food, drink, supplies, and the continued hosting of the tavern, ensuring that this gathering may endure for future travelers. Those who give generously keep the hearth warm for all.
At all Tavern at the Crossroads events, you can expect:
- Homebrewed ales and homemade mead
- Fresh sourdough bread served with cheeses and fruits
- A hearty, medieval-inspired meal and desserts
- Bairn Ales (non-alcoholic “child ales”)
- Tavern games, quests, and the occasional minstrel who graces our halls
Whether you arrive in fine garb or simple clothes, alone or with companions, you are welcome at the table. For a few hours, the tavern becomes a place of warmth, camaraderie, and shared story—where all roads meet. All great stories begin and end at the tavern.
