Ghisallo Cycling Initiative - Austin

Ghisallo Cycling Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages and abilities to access their interests by bicycle—whether riding for exploration, transportation, or community connection

Our name honors the Madonna del Ghisallo, patron saint of cyclists and namesake of the famous Italian climb near Lake Como—symbolizing safe, accessible cycling journeys.

We provide direct services and programs to help folks integrate bicycling into everyday life through skills training, bike access, infrastructure advocacy, staffed clinics, and supportive community partnerships

Since 2011, we have provided in-depth after-school Bike Clubs, high volume safety clinics, and learn-to-ride programs for youth in Austin. We began serving older adults (50+) and seniors (65+) starting in 2016 through the launch of our Golden Rollers trike program, expanded to San Antonio in 2018, and launched programs specifically designed for adults in 2019.
