Sommer Sherrod is a highly regarded Healthcare Strategist, Human Resources thought leader, and former Adjunct Professor. Sommer brings a unique perspective having spent her career solving a myriad of Human Resources challenges in a variety of industries and Fortune 100 companies.

Sommer’s strength in healthcare is rooted in three strategic vantage points: Employer/Human Resources, Insurance Carrier, and External Consultant/Broker. This multi-faceted background helps her deeply understand the principal sides of the healthcare equation in a way that very few can. Sommer attended the University of Florida from 1995-1998, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. In 2000, she earned a Master of Education degree in Counseling Psychology and Master of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in New York City.

As part of her commitment to advancing healthcare, Sommer has led fundraising efforts for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. She was named 2022 Woman of the Year by LLS for top contributions in the Man & Woman of the Year campaign. Within the community, Sommer has served as a leader in the Girl Scouts organization. Sommer also enjoys spending time mentoring young professionals and helping them navigate their early career.
