Ringwood Manor is a designated National Historic Landmark. Once the summer estate of the Cooper & Hewitt families, wealthy 19th century iron magnates, politicians, and philanthropists, the home was donated by the family in 1938 to the State of NJ with its complete interior furnishings for use by the public as a museum and historic site. Ringwood Manor partners with the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society, our 501(c)3 non-profit and the officially recognized friends organization, on fundraiser events to benefit the preservation and conservation of the museum. All events sponsored by NJHHS at Ringwood Manor directly benefit the National Historic Landmark site through preservation and conservation work.
