Welcome to Balanced & Joyful

Hi all! My name is Beate. I am a mature and experienced Early Childhood Teacher who loves working with children and supporting families. My experience in my 20+ years in early education includes public and private preschool, childcare, nanny, mentorship and volunteer work. The majority of my experience is in caring for infants & toddlers. In my work with children, I embrace the philosophies of RIE and Reggio Emilia. I enjoy spending time outdoors and fostering nature appreciation in children.

After 20 years of an early childhood teacher, I came to the realization that I needed to find a way to relief my work-related stress if I wanted to continue to be my best as a teacher. In 2010 I explored holistic wellness practices as a way to find balance. My quest led me to yoga, meditation, mindfulness and energy healing. These practices helped me cope with stress and turned into a healing journey and a way of life. I pursued certification in these modalities to help others find balance and joy.

These practices foster a sense of calmness and centeredness that help set the tone in any classroom. A grounded teacher is able to stay in the observer mode versus reaction mode.

As my classroom teaching career nears its end, I want to offer the tools that changed my life to others.
