Built in 1709 by the Vander Endes, the Vander Ende-Onderdonk house is the oldest Dutch colonial stone house in New York City. After a serious fire in 1975, local residents rallied to save the structure from demolition, forming the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society. The House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and is still maintained by the GRHS. The House is located at 1820 Flushing Avenue Queens, NY 11385.
