Ragged Island Brewing Company was born in 2016 as an idea among good friends who shared a passion for craft beer, the outdoors, and entrepreneurship. In March of 2017, we opened our doors as a 1 bbl brewery before quickly upgrading to a 3.5 bbl system by July of 2017.

Five years of twists and turns later, we’ve finally opened the doors at our new farm home at 54 Bristol Ferry Road in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. With 37 acres of farmland and woods to explore, our working farm has a lot to offer!

We have completely renovated the barn to be a state of the art brewing facility for our new 10 barrel brewhouse. This system is the perfect size for small batches of our fan favorite recipes with plenty of room for new and experimental brews. And we have completely remodeled our 1890s farmhouse taproom to offer a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for sampling and retail sales with multiple outdoor decks, a greenhouse, and stunning views of Narragansett Bay.
