Founded in 2013, Novum Dance Collective (formerly Nozama) is a contemporary dance company dedicated to exploring and celebrating human identity through movement. Led by Artistic Director Dana Alsamsam, Novum’s work engages with themes of identity, gender, and power, particularly focusing on the women’s and queer experiences. Our performances, known for their raw emotional intensity and technical power, aim to resonate, challenge perceptions, and inspire social change. With over a decade of creative collaboration, Novum produces two major concerts each year, alongside participation in local festivals like NACHMO, Boston WiP, and the Dance for World Community Festival. Our dancers are given opportunities to grow as choreographers, teachers, and arts leaders, contributing to a vibrant and supportive artistic community.
