The Varsity

The historic Varsity Theater, built in 1940, is a performance art venue on The Strip in Downtown Carbondale, Illinois. The Varsity boasts three performance spaces: The Balcony, a 140-seat listening room and performance area, and primary home to our film screenings; the East Theater, seating 150, is a space used primarily for theater along with live events and film; and the Big Room, seating 475, with all-new, state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems designed primarily for music and live events.

Varsity Bar & Concessions

Serving patrons beers and wines, select cocktails, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic beverages, along with fresh popcorn, candy, snacks, and treats.
