Carlo L'Chelle Dawson is an award-winning master storyteller, historic dramatic reenactor, veteran educator, teaching artist, songstress, and nonprofit founder/executive director and the Rock Hill Poet Laureate. She is the author of five books. Most notably, her children's book "Why We Celebrate: The Rich Legacy of Juneteenth" has been featured on the British British Broadcasting Corporation and ETV. Carlo shares stories that delight, inspire, and enlighten. Her “why” is providing a voice to the “voiceless”, which inspired her to create a one-woman show, “The Missing Voice”, which gives voice to underrepresented populations. This "edutainer" and poet leads workshops for all ages at museums, libraries, festivals, conferences, and more. Carlo is driven to “motivate, uplift, and inspire” individuals to maximize their full potential.
