All Souls Church's Religious Education Program

All Souls Religious Education Program

All Souls' religious education program is part of the church's mission to build a diverse, spirit-growing, justice-seeking community. Through meaningful lesson themes, arts, hands-on and physical activities, and open conversation, participants of every age explore big questions in a welcoming Unitarian Universalist setting. Family-friendly events help everyone deepen their connections with the wider All Souls family.

Our foundation

We believe every person has inherent worth and dignity and is endowed with "powers of the soul": the power to feel, connect, reason, imagine, create, love, listen, speak, make meaning, enjoy life's gifts, and work to transform injustice. Our programming supports a lifelong journey of deepening our connection with the sacred, growing our souls, and building a multigenerational, multicultural, and multiracial Beloved Community.

Learning for every age

  • Infants and toddlers: Nursery care
  • Preschool and elementary: Theme-based lessons during services
  • Middle and high school youth: Classes with off-site excursions and self-directed learning
  • Adults: Courses, workshops, discussion groups, spiritual retreats, and pilgrimages

What the program aims to do

  • Encourage and support children's spiritual and ethical growth
  • Provide an open, safe, and compassionate community
  • Give young people a place to explore Unitarian Universalism and other faiths
  • Support a natural development of faith rooted in direct experience
