Haṭha Vidyā

The term Haṭha Vidyā implies the wisdom of Yoga. In Sanskrit, Haṭha is formed from two syllables — Ha signifies the solar or heating principle, while Tha represents the lunar or cooling principle. Haṭha Vidyā is the science of harmonising these two forces within the human system, leading to inner balance and mental equilibrium.

Regarded as the foundational path of yogic practice, Haṭha Vidyā works by refining the body and mind through disciplined methods — preparing the practitioner for higher states of awareness, vitality, and well-being.

A Life Dedicated To The Tradition

Acharya Bala, Founder and Director of Haṭha Vidyā Traditional School of Yoga, is a dedicated yogic practitioner and master deeply rooted in the traditional path of Haṭha Vidyā. His teaching emerges from years of disciplined sādhana, study, and adherence to classical yogic lineages.

Committed to safeguarding the purity of Haṭha Vidyā, he ensures that every practice he teaches remains experiential, unaltered, and free from personal invention. He teaches from personal experience — years of disciplined practice and direct study of classical yogic texts.

As a master and mentor, he imparts āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation, and yogic philosophy as an integrated system — supporting students from diverse backgrounds in cultivating depth, clarity, and self-awareness in daily life.
