The Communications Department leads all public outreach and external communications on behalf of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) and the Board of Trustees. The department promotes awareness of CTUIR’s achievements and success, tribal government services, Treaty Rights, First Foods, and culture, all while advancing tribal interests through strategic, proactive communications, and public relations. With the KCUW radio station, monthly Confederated Umatilla Journal newspaper, Legislative Affairs, and a social media following of more than 11,000, the department provides news and information to CTUIR members and the public.
