Texas Opioid Prevention for Students

Texas Opioid Prevention for Students

THRIVE is a comprehensive prevention program that meets the requirements of House Bill 3908 (Tucker’s Law), which mandates substance use prevention and awareness education in Texas schools. It is intentionally designed as a developmental progression—beginning with foundational skill-building in middle school, such as critical thinking, recognizing influences, effective communication, healthy decision-making, and using one’s voice.

These skills are then reinforced and expanded into more direct, developmentally appropriate substance use prevention education as students transition into high school.

Our priority is to learn from community members and partners like you to better understand how we can collaborate effectively to address the growing youth fentanyl crisis in Texas. We are committed to building meaningful partnerships that support prevention, education, and community awareness.
