The Writers' Room NYC

The Writers' Room NYC is a free, Manhattan-based live workshop that allows local writers to hear their work-in-process performed before a live audience, while connecting them with fellow writers, actors, and audiences. We strive to create a space that allows writers and actors to hone their craft and build the meaningful connections that will catapult them towards their goals, while also providing a fun night of performance and art for theaters lovers.

Nadia Asencio is a Manhattan-based actor, writer, director, and proud U.S. Army veteran. She's appeared in TV, film, national commercials, and has written, cast, and directed three plays that were produced off-Broadway. She trained at HB Studio, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and UCB. Passionate about storytelling, she's dedicated to fostering a welcoming space where artists can develop their craft, connect, and bring new work to life.

Mike Muñoz is a proud U.S. Army vet who's dedicated years advocating for veterans in our community. He studied film and screenwriting at SUNY Empire State, drawn to writing as a powerful way to give voice to experiences that often go unheard. He brings that same commitment here - building a community where writers can sharpen their craft, tell honest stories, and support one another along the way. He resides in Manhattan.
