Tucson Organic Gardeners
In 1971, several friends who gardened organically decided to meet monthly to discuss gardening without pesticides, herbicides, and harmful chemicals. In 1992, the group incorporated as Tucson Organic Gardeners, a non-profit entity.
Mission Statement
Tucson Organic Gardeners exists to be the community that makes organic gardening in the Sonoran Desert both possible and richly rewarding. We help our members grow food, tend native plants, and build pollinator habitats sustainably, sharing the knowledge and experience that every gardener, at every level, can grow from.
How We Do It
Growing food organically in the Sonoran Desert takes curiosity, patience, and people willing to share what they know. Through monthly programs, our twice-annual Garden Fairs, hands-on workshops, garden tours, and publications, we connect growers of every level to each other and to the land they're learning to love. We partner with local organizations and businesses that share our commitment to organic, sustainable living in Southern Arizona.
