Secondcell Bio
About Secondcell Bio
Secondcell Bio is a biotech built around Chromovert, a cell engineering platform for expressing hard-to-study drug targets, including GPCRs, in living cells for drug discovery. The technology traces back to The Rockefeller University, in the lab of Nobel laureate Günter Blobel, where founder and CEO Kambiz Shekdar, PhD earned his doctorate.
Why we host Another Boston Biotech Event!
Boston has no shortage of biotech events, but many are expensive, formal, or built around a sales pitch. We wanted something simpler: a free monthly mixer on the first Monday of every month where founders, scientists, investors, lawyers, and operators can meet in a relaxed setting and actually talk.
The response has told us it's needed. Our September mixer drew more than 170 registrations from over 130 different companies, with no single employer dominating the room, and many attendees come back month after month.
Every month features a networking mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Mestizo Modern Mexican in Kendall Square. Once a quarter, we add a panel discussion on a topic that matters to the community, organized by members of the community itself. Our first panel, moderated by Ray Dogum of Drug Discovery Online, tackled whether AI inventions can be patented.
Have an idea for a panel, or interested in sponsoring? We'd love to hear from you.
